If I were to buy a laptop in December 2024

Some people have asked me what laptops they should buy, considering the considerable number of varieties in the market. This depends on everyone’s needs, but if I were to buy a new laptop in December 2024, and if the budget and performance aspects would be essential, I would consider one of the following laptops (max 14″ screen size due to portability):

For macOS:

1. Apple MacBook Pro 14″ M4 Pro (2024) with M4 Pro CPU, 16-Core GPU, 24 GB RAM, and 512 GB SSD, which costs around 2.000 €.
2. Apple MacBook Air 13″ (2024), with M3 Pro CPU, 8-Core GPU, 16 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD, which costs around 1.000 €.

For Microsoft Windows OS:

1. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2024) with AMD Ryzen 9 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 32 GB RAM, and 1 TB SSD, which costs around 2.400 €
2. Razer Blade 14 (2024) with AMD Ryzen 9 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 32 GB RAM, and 1 TB SSD, which costs around 3.300 €.

For most people who use the laptop for light use, such as browsing, watching videos, and editing documents, I recommend Apple MacBook Air. For the ones who also do some work, such as AI training, video editing, and other intensive tasks, I recommend the other three laptops mentioned above. I recommend the two Microsoft Windows OS laptops for people who like playing games.

For me, the sweet spot between the four laptops listed above is the Apple MacBook Pro 14″ M4 Pro (2024) regarding macOS or the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2024) regarding Microsoft Windows OS.
